Overview
A Senior Linux/Unix Systems Engineer with strong experience working on NetApp devices. Ensures design and delivery of robust systems with high availability. Participates in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure system provisioning and maintenance that is consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements. Integrates systems across server and storage platforms. This is a "hands on" high performance position in system operations.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Extensive experience in RedHat Linux/Unix/Solaris and system global design
2. Experience in capacity planning and deployment in a mixed Unix Windows environment
3. Proficient in Linux/Unix system administration, including Redhat Linux (9.0), Redhat Enterprise Linux 5 and 6, Debian 3.5 and later, Gentoo Linux
4. Solaris 2.6, 2.7, 2.8 and 10 configuration and administration including zones, LDOMs and ZFS
5. Veritas Volume Manager, Veritas Cluster Services, Veritas Dynamic Mulitpathing, EMC Powerpath
6. Linux kernel configuration and patching, Bash shell scripting, PHP, Python, HTML
7. Apache web server, Samba, NFS, FTP, Asterisk PBX
8. Netfilter, Secure Shell (open SSH/Tetcia), Rsync, Subversion
9. Xen Hypervisor, VMware ESX, Nagios and Zenoss installation/customization
10. Xen Hypervisor, VMware ESX, Nagios and Zenoss installation/customization
11. HP Opsware, Sysedge, SiteScope
12. Microsoft Windows administration, including server 2003 and 2008 with DFS and Active Directory
13. Working knowledge in MySQL, VB.net, C, Cisco IOS 12.4, TCP/IP, UDP, T1(telco interconnect), Red Hat Directory Server
14. Enterprise system monitoring and trouble shooting.
15. NetApp, NAS Support, ISCSI Configuration and steady state maintenance
16. SAN experience on both fiber channel and iSCSI.
17. Configure, maintain and support Red Hat Clustering technology and KVM.
18. Installs Dell/HP/Cisco hardware and software, conducts system upgrades, evaluates and installs patches and resolves software and security related problems. Systems fleet management
19. Work in a team environment and participate in 24/7 on-call schedule.
20. Strong experience in VMWare ESX 3/4/5 virtualized product set.
21. Strong Experience with Vsphere, Vcloud, Vdirector, Vcenter
22. Knowledgeable in Dell/HP hardware, product lines, and configurations.
23. Experience with Bash/Shell scripting the ability to automate work loads
24. F5/Cisco hardware Load Balancers for web farms.
25. Analyze and resolve complex problems associated with server hardware, applications and software integration.
26. Strong understanding of project management principles.
27. Strong familiarity with Data Center Operations/NOC/escalation procedures
28. Experience with VDI Enterprise Deployments
29. Experience with scripting in Shell, Perl, and PHP. .
30. Configure, maintain and support NIS, DNS and BIND.
31. Liaison with application staff for infrastructure design and architecture
SKILL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
1. 6+ years experience as a Red Hat Server/NetApp Administrator
2. 4+ years of experience with VMWare administration, configuration, and support
3. 4+ years of experience with Citrix Presentation Server 4.5 administration, configuration, and support.
4. 4+ years of MySQL DBA Administration
5. 4+ years of NetApp NAS Appliance administration
