Title: SQL DBA
Locations: Irving, TX
ONLY local candidates to TX... in-Person Interview is Must
Duration: 6 Months Contract + extendable
Hourly pay rate: $55/hr - $58/hr on C2C max
Job Description
• Administrate and monitor MS SQL servers; apply required patches; Migrate servers from one data center to another; Develop and implement data archive, purge and masking procedures; build database kits, deploy in non-production and promote to production after certification; Attend production outage calls and provide necessary fixes.
• Develop tested code to modify existing architecture and make necessary changes to the system interfaces; and provide Object and Source Code to Verizon, in accordance with Verizon standards utilizing Verizon source and Object Code libraries and Configuration Management procedures.
• Confirm to existing coding standards by eliminating hard coded routines and replace with dynamic data driven solutions.
• Provide code review, and provide documentation in support thereof, to Verizon.
• Create and provide documents in support of this deliverable to include updated versions of design, process flow diagram, API specification, and error description
Required Skills
"• Should have 5-7 Years of experience in Database Administration, Server installation, up gradation, Backup recovery strategies, Design, and Development using Microsoft SQL server 2005 & 2008 and RDBMS Server Technologies.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Log shipping Technologies including to create a warm stand by database in case of Disaster Recovery.
• Should have 3-5 years of experience in developing code for Oracle 11g and MS SQL 2005 using PL/SQL, TSQL etc.
• Should be strong in problem analysis, problem solving and decision-making.
• Should have strong verbal and written communication skills and coordination skills.
Must be a team player.
• Should have Master's Degree in Computer science with Microsoft certification in Database Administration is added advantage.
Desired Skills
MS SQL 2005 and 2008, TSQL; Oracle 11g, PL/SQL
Education and Years of Experience
5+ years of Technical experiences, Masters degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience plus MS certificate in DB administration.
