Short Description: The Software Developer/Programmer (SDP) converts data from project specifications and statements of problems and procedures to create or modify computer programs. This will be a 6 month position.

 

Complete Description: This SDP4 position will be joining the DNR application development team and working on a departmental initiative requiring .NET programming skills using WebForms and MVC. It will require working with multiple business units, and requires communicating with project managers, business SMEs and other agency leaders. DNR recently completed a LEAN design event with DNR staff and stakeholders from around the state.  The team recommended changes to the DNR's Animal Feeding Operations web application to allow for online submittal of annual notifications which achieves multiple efficiency goals for both the DNR and stakeholders.   This position will modify the AFO web application to integrate the new functionality for those annual Manure Management Plan notifications.

Good background of Configuration Management/Ticketing systems like Maven/Ant/JIRA etc.
Strong in Shell Scripting programming, Java, EDW platforms
Knowledge around any Data Integration and/or EDW tools is plus

Job Description:
10-15 years of experience as Principal Consultant, Subject Mater Expert working on Big Data Platforms (Hadoop, Map Reduce, NoSQL, Real Time Streaming, Search, Spark, Java platforms)
Experience in driving large initiatives for building world class products on Java based and Big Data Platforms
Experience with managing and handling very large data repositories, delivering distributed and highly scalable applications
Ability to quickly prototype, architect and build software using latest/greatest technologies
Good Customer facing, interpersonal and communication skills
Experience in addressing non-functional requirement's and large application deployment architectures and concerns such as scalability, performance, availability, reliability, security etc
Experience in any one or more of the following technologies

Experience on Hadoop (Apache/Cloudera/Hortonworks) and/or other Map Reduce Platforms
Experience on Hive, Pig, Sqoop, Flume and/or Mahout
Experience on NO-SQL – HBase, Cassandra, MongoDB
Experience on Spark, Storm, Kafka
Experience around Search Platform - Solr, Elastic
Good background of Configuration Management/Ticketing systems like Maven/Ant/JIRA etc.
Strong in Shell Scripting programming, Java, EDW platforms
Knowledge around any Data Integration and/or EDW tools is plus

Candidate should have at least one or two projects delivered at Production Scale on above technology stacks
