| MOI:- Telephonic + Face 2 Face
Contractor will be a senior QA tester that has specific expertise in Charles River trading and IMST project applications. Required for business critical Fixed Income Trading , BAU and Artemis projects scheduled for delivery in 2014. 1. Supporting End to End (E2E) testing with BWA and client systems2. 2. Supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of the US based population of IRs, IAs and PMs during US business hours. 3. Charles River trading functionality is only available during US business hours. 4. Fixed Income Trading interface with Bloomberg can only be tested @ 200 Park since that's where the only Bloomberg test terminal is installed. Main Duties Purpose of role: Candidate will be responsible for the accurate testing of Charles River IMS portfolio management, trading and reporting system. Specifically, the candidate must be an expert in Front End and Back End testing. Core accountabilities: - Create test plans for assigned projects
- Develop test cases based on business requirements, functional and technical specifications, and development standards for assigned projects/applications.
- Build complex SQL queries to validate financial data including accounts, positions, balances, trades, tax lots, and incoming security reference data from market data providers.
- Maintain existing test plans and test cases based on code changes and enhancements
- Improve upon available documentation (requirements, test cases, test scenarios)
- Perform Regression Test planning and execution
- Validate acquisition, enrichment and consolidation of data
- Track issues and work with project managers and developers to resolve
- Create and send issue reports to project team and management during test cycles
- Contribute in the development of knowledge transfer documentation
- Provide status to management
Person Requirements - Ability to be a team player in the global IMST team
- Strong communication and follow up skills (verbal/written).
- Strong time management and multitasking skills
- Ability to decipher requirements and test scope when documentation is unavailable
- Work independently
- Attention to details
- Ability to problem solve
- Ability to investigate issues
- Ability to write comprehensive test cases and steps
- Hard working, self motivated, and assertive
- Excellent organizational skills
- Skills in Microsoft Office, ability to create documentation and presentations, develop spreadsheets, Visio and MS Project
Skills: - Knowledge of Charles River IMS is not required but is a strong plus
- Extensive SQL background
- Understanding of Batch processing
- Experience with front/middle-tier/back office testing and messaging/queuing systems
- SDLC
- UNIX knowledge is a plus
- Must pass skill assessment tests for SQL and Brokerage & Wealth Management
- DB Knowledge (must):
- Understanding of a relational database
- Understanding of Primary keys
- Extensive experience in writing SQL join queries
- Extensive experience in writing SQL insert and update commands
- Ability to read and understand a data model
- UNIX (plus):
- The ability to navigate a UNIX file system
- Understanding of the chmod function
- Understanding of the grep function
- Understanding of relative and absolute paths
- Understanding of redirection
- Understands terminal editors
- Proficient in vi
- Proficient in HP Quality Center and QuickTest Prod
- Ability to read XML
Academic and professional qualifications - BA/BS Required
- 4-6 years QA/IT experience in the financial industry with basic understanding of portfolio management, investment management and daily data processing (holdings, trades, income, journals)
- QA/QC certification a plus (from PMI, QAI, IIST or other organization)
