Description:
This position is for a SQL Database Developer with Transactional system development, ETL, Analytical Reporting experience - please read through the skills section and entire description for more detail.
NOTE: THIS IS A DEVELOPER ROLE WHERE THE RESOURCE SPECIALIZES IN CODING AGAINST A SQL BACKEND DATABASE. IT IS NOT A DBA POSITION WHERE THE RESOURCE IS DOING MAINTENANCE, UPGRADES, STORAGE ALLOCATION OR BACKUP.
THIS POSITION IS NOT AS A DATA WAREHOUSE DEVELOPER, WE WANT TO FOCUS ON DATABASE DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT following a relational model with the normalized table. Understand where we need to de-normalize the database as needed to increase performance.
This person will need to obtain the requirements and work independently. Guidance and feedback would be surrounding the business rules and operations, not how to perform the technical duties.
The resource will be responsible for evaluating business requirements and designing an optimal database structure. They will design an efficient database structure that will ensure optimal performance from a query and data access perspective.
This position has the potential to extend past the initial first year.
The successful candidate will spend a good portion of their time working with the Systems that support Child Care, Child Welfare, Medicaid, TANF, and SNAP Systems and expected to work in concert with Front End developers developer(s) troubleshooting system problem reports and processing enhancement requests.
While working on system enhancements the successful candidate is expected to propose, design, and develop solutions in concert with the front end developer(s) to fulfill the business requirements.
The successful candidate will be required to follow standard practices for migrating changes to the test and production environments and provide post-production support. When not working on enhancement requests or problem reports, the candidate would concentrate on performance tuning.
The individual should work well in a team and independently as needed.
Must Have:
Experience in working with SQL Server 2008 R2, 2012, and 2016
Expert knowledge of T-SQL
Experience in developing and optimizing complex stored procedures
Experience in working with user-defined functions and triggers (scaler and table functions)
Database modeling and design
Execution of SQL best practices in regards to security and privacy
Experience in building ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services(SSIS)
Experience in working closely with.Net development team
Knowledge of Crystal Reports and SQL Server Reporting Services(SSRS) is a plus
Experience with SDLC and Agile development practices
Experience in working with big databases ( over 1 TB)
