Job Title: Release Manager
Location: Washington DC

JD:
Policies and Procedures (35%)
Aligning Release Management policies and procedures with teams and stakeholders
Identifies opportunities to make improvements to the release management process.
Drive the 3-year road map
Maintains documentation of all processes.
Defining different templates to be followed by teams
Continuous refinement of Enterprise Release Management Goals, policies and procedures (empirical process control)
Helping streamlining tools and techniques for Release Management
Defining KPI for Release Management and capturing them
Calculation of Release Management Maturity Index quarterly for teams
Working on POCs for integration or tools required for teams
Helping in deployment and working as backup for release coordinators whenever required by teams
Creates release management standards to be followed. Educate teams on the release methodology and strategy.
Collects feedback from the users/teams involved in release management process, adjust the steps/procedures as deemed necessary.
Integrates the release process with other IT processes including ITSM and Agile processes.
Works closely with Change and Configuration Management team to stay up to date on all change, configuration and internal controls standards and processes. Maintaining a record of each release package in Configuration Management Database (CMDB)

Onboarding (10%)
Participating in Iteration 0 and helping teams with release management onboarding phase
Working closely with Horizontal teams and onboarding them with RM policies and procedures

Governance (15%)
Ensures that the Release is represented in the Change Advisory Board (CAB)
Ensuring Release Management Practice at team levels are aligned with Enterprise Release Management Goals
Ensuring all release meetings, artifacts are in place and is been practiced by teams and release coordinators
Working closely with change management and configuration management for tracking SDL and HDL in CMDB
Participating in all meetings and deployments and working as escalation point for Release Management
Participating in Go/No-Go meetings

Management (30%)
Manage and directs release coordinators
Mentors new hires and ensure they understand the Release Management policies and procedures
Test Environments Coordination (10%)
Manages overall non-production environment usage, configuration, and scheduling of the different test environments for each release.
Strictly manages timing and coordination of test cycles with competing projects and client stakeholders sharing pre-production test environments.

Skills
Strong understanding of ITL Service Lifecycle Management Processes (certification a plus)
Impactful, persuasive, clear, concise and tactful communication style is absolutely required
Exceptional leadership, prioritization, and project management skills. Ability to work across organizational barriers to achieve desired results.
Strong knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
Proficient Microsoft Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Project skills, SharePoint
Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion
Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) knowledge
Experience working with Agile software project management tools:  JIRA, Confluence

Experience
Minimum of 7-10 years' experience in relevant release management or project management Experience in working in both Waterfall and Agile software development methodologies.
3-5 years guiding or managing staff on daily operational deliverables
Experience with release management tools, preferably ServiceNow,
Experience working with Agile software project management tools:  JIRA, JIRA testing tools
Experience in working in both Waterfall and Agile software development methodologies.
Ability to identify approaches, risks, mitigation strategies to meet client/functional requirements
Excellent problem solving and analysis skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, collaboration and interpersonal skills
Dedicated to exemplary customer service
