Job Title : Solution Architect – Supply Chain Systems / Warehouse Control Systems and Automation

Duration : 6+ months (possibility of extension)

Location: King Of Prussia, PA with travel to other locations

Purpose and role of job:

The Supply Chain Solution Delivery team provides strategic direction, technical/functional expertise, and product management for First Quality's Supply Chain systems which include:   Demand Planning/Forecasting, Customer Service, EDI, Warehousing (Warehouse Automation, AS/RS and Self-Guided Vehicles), and Logistics/Transportation.  The Solution Architect, as a key member of the Supply Chain Solution Delivery team, provides functional and technical leadership for the definition, design, and delivery of First Quality's Supply Chain systems.     

Solution Architects are assigned one or more specialization area(s) such as Demand Planning/Forecasting, Warehousing, Logistics, or Customer Service, etc.  The person in this role will interact with team members within First Quality Consumer Products, plant locations, warehouses, and 3PL partner sites to define business requirements, scope solutions, develop specifications, and oversee delivery of solutions including integration to other FQ systems.   

This position is the go-to contact for their assigned system specialization and, as such, serves as the ultimate support escalation point for their assigned system(s).    The person in this position owns their assigned system(s) and interacts with all divisions within First Quality. This position will be held accountable for the training, education, and execution of Supply Chain systems specifically related to warehouse control systems, warehouse automation, AS/RS, and self-guided vehicles, with the goal to fully utilize their capabilities.  The person in this position will work closely with the leaders and Solution Architects of the following areas:   Planning & Architecture, Business Systems, Analytics, Software Quality Assurance, Enterprise Application Integration, and Solution Support to maintain a complete end-to-end systems lifecycle (Architecture to Support).   As such, proven evidence of being a team player is critical for success in this role.

Principal Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:

•         Provides input into overall direction, development and integration of warehouse control systems, warehouse automation (AS/RS), and self-guided vehicles. 

•         Plays a lead role in enabling the business to achieve their objectives through the effective use of technology

•         Work with Supply Chain Solution Leader and business leadership to document a clear vision of a business problem/opportunity and how it supports the business plan 

•         Works Supply Chain Solution Leader and with the Campus/Divisions to understand business strategy and define system requirements 

•         Ensures sound integration of processes and assigned systems across FQ

•         Serves as Subject Matter Expert for assigned systems in the areas of:

o   Integration.   Warehouse Control Systems, Material Handling Equipment, AS/RS, and Self-Guided Vehicle integration to Business Systems (SAP, JD Edwards),  Analytics/Reporting

o   Analytics. ensures relevant Supply Chain systems data is available in First Quality Analytics platform

•         Ensures adherence to IT Architecture principles and guidelines

•         Ensures optimal application performance and maintainability of assigned systems thus enabling scalability and continuous updates from software vendors

Education and experience requirements:

•         Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field

•         Supply Chain Systems experience with a focus on warehouse management systems or material handling equipment automation

•         7 plus years of progressive IT experience with at least 3 years in  Supply Chain Systems 

•         3 plus years of experience with warehouse automation and warehouse control software implementation and integration

•         Strong problem solving and decision making skills with excellent written and verbal communications skills

•         Experience with File transfers and socket-to-socket (including wireless) downloads, uploads and confirmations, inquiries and reports systems. 

•         Experience/exposure to Programming Languages: C/C++/VC++, JAVA, JavaScript, VB/VBA, ABAP, C#; PowerScript (PowerBuilder), ASP, SQL, XML, HTML, PLC

•         Ability and desire to engage with assigned business functions of the Enterprise to understand and articulate the business requirements as well as the IT capabilities and requirements

•         Fluent in English

•         Advanced knowledge of assigned IT disciplines and technology platforms including the following SAP modules affiliated with your assigned specialization area:   SD (Order Management, Shipping Delivery), MM (Goods Receipt, Inventory Management, Stock Transfer), SCM (WM, eWM)

 

•         Experience implementing software used in 24X7  environments 

•         Experience with the main functions and responsibilities within Supply Chain including: Warehousing, Inventory Management, Logistics and automation including Self-Guided Vehicles, RF, etc.

•         Knowledge of standards and methodology of Project Management Institute (PMI).    PMP certification desired but not required

•         Ability to work within a 24/7 environment across multiple time zones
