Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for an Junior QA Analyst for a full time assignment with one of our premier financial clients in Greenwich, CT.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for testing of applications supported by IT organization.
• Develop test scripts and test cases based on the software requirements
• Execute test scripts and test cases to confirm that business requirements are met
• Identify, log, and track defects
• Provide reporting on defect tracking and escalate technical issues as needed
• Make sure all testing is conducted in accordance with company policy and regulations

Required Skills:

• Minimum 2 years of experience at a financial firm or in a QA role
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Finance, or equivalent combination of education and work experience in QA
• Strong analytical skills (especially ability to translate business functionality into application requirements)
• Intellectual curiosity and aptitude to question software features as well as overall software products
• Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and changing business requirements
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to quickly troubleshoot problems that may arise in work products
• Ability to work with software engineers to identify course of resolutions
• Proactive, result-oriented approach to work
• Understanding of the various testing concepts and methodologies
• Solid experience in writing software requirements and test specifications
• Strong understanding of and experience with Agile Project Management methodology
• Ability to perform successfully in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment and manage multiple priorities and assignments concurrently.
• Strong foundation in IT fundamentals. Experience in analysis and documentation tools like spreadsheet applications (e.g. Excel), diagramming software (e.g. Open Office Draw, MS Visio, Gliffy, Balsamiq), collaboration software (e.g. Jira, Confluence)
• Understanding of relational, transactional databases and ability to construct SQL queries
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with complex multifaceted issues. Able to prepare and present complex data in a simple, understandable manner.
• Minimum intermediate knowledge of financial instruments (Equities, Fixed Income, FX, Futures) and the trade life-cycle (front/middle/back office, order entry, clearing & settlement, etc.).
• Good IT aptitude

Preferred Skills:

• Previous exposure to QA automation software is a plus
