SQL BI Developer

Seattle, WA

Job Responsibilities:

·Design and support multi-dimensional models, including the construction of data views, dimensions, measures, filters, hierarchies and cubes while adhering to enforced development methodologies.

·Provide data modeling and architecture expertise for complex projects.

·Accurately scope, define and estimate work effort and resource plan for assigned projects.

·Provide solutions based approach with customers in a highly interactive environment that favors collaboration and working prototypes.

·Forecast and analyze data and trends to create reports that highlight areas needing improvement.

·Write SQL to understand source system data as well as identifying potential data quality issues.

·Ability to read and understand dimensional and normalized data models.

·Create and modify complex Analysis Services (SSAS) cubes, create dynamic reports in Reporting Services (SSRS) using SQL and MDX.

·Provide reporting expertise, ad-hoc training, workshops and guidance to customers leveraging self-reporting against a TFS warehouse and cube.

·Ability to create reporting tools and reports using the TFS API.

·Actively participate in architecture discussions and planning to represent reporting needs in future architecture plans.

 

Required skills:

·3+ years experience with Microsoft Technologies such as SSIS, SSRS and SSAS

·2+ years working with SQL Server 2008/R2.

·Expert knowledge of T-SQL

·Knowledge / experience of MDX using MS Analysis Services Cubes

·Must be able to perform the role with little to no supervision in a highly-dynamic environment.

·Proficient understanding of the Microsoft BI stack of products—SSMS, BIS, SSRS, PowerPivot

·Proficient understanding of the related Microsoft technology - .Net, Sharepoint, WCF, WPF and TFS

·Prior experience designing and building logical / physical data models

·Minimum of 3-5 years related experience with emphasis in Database engineering and development life cycles with at least 1 year experience involving architectural responsibilities

·Ability to quickly understand both business and technical concepts

·Prior Experience with Microsoft is preferred
