Job title: UNIX Admin (Linux, AIX & HP-UX)

Location: Austin/Atlanta

Duration: 6+ months

 

Flexible to work in night shift and weekend for a total of 40 hours/week – Schedule would be Sunday to Wed Or Thursday to Saturday 12 hour shift

Desired Competencies (Technical/Behavioral Competency)

Must-Have    

1. Unix Administration – L2 level 

2. Production support experience

3. Backup tools ( TSM, AVAMAR & MONDO)

4. Patching

5. Hardware Troubleshooting and vendor follow-ups

6. Good Trouble shooting skills

7. Kernel Tuning Knowledge

8. RHCE certified

 

Good-to-Have       

1. Experience Server Monitoring tools

2. VMware knowledge

3. Ticketing tools (HPSM, Remedy)

4. ITIL awareness

5. Storage administration (SAN)

           6. Shell / Perl Scripting

 

Responsibility of / Expectations from the Role

1        Unix Administration (L2 level)

2        Server building and piloting experience

3        Patching (Server updates, Security, Server Hardware related )

4        Root cause analysis and debugging and Problem skills

5        Back-up and restore Administration experience & procedure

6        Migration /Virtualization of Servers from HP-UX, AIX to Linux

7        Storage migration

8        Remote Server management

9        Performance tuning

10      Knowledge on Incident, Problem and Change process

11      Server monitoring

12      Good understanding of Server and Storage hardware

13      Knowledge on Networking (DNS, NIS, LDAP)

14      Knowledge on Clustering

15     RHCE(Linux Red Hat Certification Mandatory)
