Title: SQL Database Administrator

Location:  Chicago, IL

Duration: 6+ Months

 

 

Description:

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintenance of Existing Databases. Monitoring Databases through Spotlight. Create and maintain DTS / SSIS packages to transfer data from or to AS400 and SQL databases. Daily interaction and support of teams comprised of Enterprise Java developers, Web developers and AS400 developers. Create Reports based on business requirements. Understand the Core Business and implement /recommend Database changes. Data transfer between QA, Development and Production Servers. MS SQL Server 2005 experience. Database replication and infrastructure requirements definition. Defining the Database Structure and procedures for new Applications. Monitor and sanction of New release on Database instances. Load and capacity testing of current and new installations before release. Review the SQL programming of existing applications and optimization of queries. Identifying and deploy appropriate performance related tools. Establish and document best practice for Database Backup, Archiving and Recovery. Perform manual updates for data required for our MCP (Merchant Content Publishing) system. Support Member Services Requirement for manual data changes. Support Marketing in terms of their data/report requirements. Support EDW/BI team in researching and transferring required data Position Requirements Formal Education & Certification: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or other science discipline preferred Knowledge & Experience: SQL 2005, SSIS, DTS, Netapps, Snap Manager. An understanding of Informatica, Cognos and Unica is a plus. Experience in Managing Microsoft Cluster Environment Six (6) years of previous Database experience
