Location

Length:                 6 month w/option for additional time- CONTRACT or Contract to hire

Overview:
The Managed Storage Engineer provides Level 2/3 management of our customers managed Storage services.  Working with a Manager, this individual will handle incidents and service requests to remotely administer our customer's Storage environment.   Additionally, the Engineer will proactively manage the environment through performance, capacity and configuration management reports.  The Engineer will also develop process documentation and automation techniques to expand the service to operational resources.  The Engineer will also leverage existing and new tools to expand visibility into the customer environments.  This is a unique opportunity in a dynamic, fast-paced and collaborative environment with hands-on access to leading edge datacenter, virtualization, and storage technologies.

Job Requirements:

1.       Must have  2-4 years of managing NetApp Storage  solutions providing level 2/3 SAN support to Enterprise customers

a.       1-2 years of managing HDS Storage solutions would be huge plus

2.       Practical knowledge of Storage hardware including Quantum, Oracle/Sun/StorageTek, and SpectraLogic Tape libraries; and Quantum, Diligent or EMC/Data Domain Virtual Tape libraries. 

a.       Strong consideration will be given to consultants with following skills:

Ø  Proven experience with UNIX operating systems, especially Solaris.   Experience with RedHat Linux, AIX and HP-UX a plus.

Ø  Proven experience with backup technologies including Symantec NetBackup, EMC Networker, and CommVault are a plus.

3.       Experience working directly with customers in urgent situations is a must

4.       Excellent attention to detail, ability to multi-task and to adapt easily to change, ability to maintain positive attitude while working under pressure and strict timelines

5.       Exemplary verbal and written communication skills exercised on a regular basis (verbal & written)

6.       Driven, self-motivated, with a strong work ethic, an individual who has a passion for customer service and problem solving
