Position: Sr. Solutions Architect

Location: McLean, VA

Duration: Long Term

 

Our client, an innovative, reputable company is looking for a Sr. Solutions Architect to join their team in McLean, VA on a long-term contract basis. The contract is scheduled to run through 2013, and there is a very good possibility of extension. As a Sr. Solutions Architect, you will be responsible for documenting and architecting hosting solutions to support our client's flagship web based digital content platform. The project involves rapidly building and deploying cutting-edge web enabled technology. Successful candidates will be able to lead design discussions with Development and Operations teams, quickly understand implications and risks in emerging software designs and business requirements and be able to propose scalable, sustainable and reusable solutions to meet them. Task and resource management are critical, as is the ability to dive into code and configurations when the need arises.

 

Requirements:

* 8 years of experience working in large enterprise or ISP environments, managing web-scale applications in a heterogeneous environment.

* Experience with .Net development.

* Experience building and tuning solutions for database-driven web applications, preferably using MS SQL Server ( 2008 / 2012 ).

* Strong Windows and Linux experience, including OS tuning.

* Must have experience working with a very large number of servers (in excess of 100); and ideally supporting multiple customers.

* Experience in any of the following technologies: Windows PowerShell, IIS, WCF, Apache, Nginix, Django, Subversion, Caching, LoadRunner/Performance Center, Cloud Computing.

* Ability to provide after hours support when support escalation is needed.

* Bachelor's Degree in CS / IT / EE or a related field.

 

HEADLINE: Sr. Solutions Architect w/8 yrs. of managing web-scale apps in a heterogeneous, large enterprise/ISP environment; .Net dev; exp. building/tuning solutions for DB-driven web apps; & strong Windows/Linux, including OS tuning; & exp. w/a very large number of servers; who will work in McLean, VA on a long-term contract scheduled to run through 2013.
