Position : Project Manager
Location : NYC,NY
Duration : 2-3 yrs
Key responsibilities and tasks:
Under the general guidance of the Portfolio Management Specialist, and direct supervision by
the project owner, the incumbent is responsible for managing one or more assigned projects.
The incumbent is required to follow Client standards for project management. The key tasks and
responsibilities include:
Project Management Support
Draft project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements;
Identify resource need and assign individual responsibilities;
Manage day-to-day operational aspects of project, scope and vendor interaction;
Review deliverable s prepared by team and vendors;
Effectively apply Client methodology and enforces project standards;
Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately;
Minimize exposure and risk on project. Highlight and mitigate risks when necessary;
Financial Management Support
Monitor and advise on project budget;
Accurately track and forecast project costs;
Follow up with vendors on project cost;
Assure project legal documents are completed and signed;
Communication
Provide regular reporting to Project Board;
Facilitate team and vendor meetings effectively;
Hold regular status meetings with project team;
Effectively communicate relevant project information to superiors;
Deliver engaging, informative, well-organized presentations;
Understand how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully;
Teamwork
Effectively utilize each team member to his/her fullest potential;
Motivate team to work together in the most efficient manner;
Keep track of lessons learned and share those lessons with team members;
Mitigate team conflict and communication problems;
Manage teams across geographically distributed locations;
Minimum Qualifications (Project Manager):
Areas of Minimum requirements
qualifications
Education/training
Successful completion of a university education, in a relevant field such
as information technology, business administration or engineering.
Work Experience
Minimum of 2 years professional experience in project
management of enterprise IT projects.
Minimum of 3 years professional experience with enterprise 30 application deployment.
Skills and languages
Solid project management skills
Familiarity with project management standards, preferably PRINCE2
Proven experience in planning, designing and deploying enterprise solutions
Proven experience in planning technical quality assurance for large
enterprise solutions, including functional, integration and performance tests.
