We've Urgent requirement with one of our client for Data Modeler/Analyst Job opening Location Las Vegas, Nevada 

Title: Data Modeler/Analyst

Location: Las Vegas, Nevada

Duration: 6 Months 

As per my experience we should look for a person who has worked as Business Analyst/Modeler.

This job requires 50% skill set of Business Analyst and 50% skill set in Modeling techniques using ERWin and Visio as toolset. 

SUMMARY OF POSITION 

This position is for a Data Modeler/Analyst with experience in creation and maintenance of data models and database designs for operational systems, Data Warehouses and Datamarts. Communication skills and teamwork are key to the position as you will interact with business stakeholders and peers to ensure the data models efficiently deliver to business objectives. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

·         Gathers requirements by interviewing users; defining, analyzing, and validating data objects; identifying the relationship among data objects

·         Develops conceptual, logical and physical data models for operational data stores, BI data warehouses and data marts

·         Creates source to target mapping documents for data loads

·         Defines and maintains metadata supporting the data models

·         Ensures data quality and sound data management practices

·         Perform quality assurance of regular model releases

·         Ensure designs are technically correct and contribute to program goals and success

·         Support integration and evaluation   

·         Troubleshoots production issues, identifying root cause and implementing sound technical resolutions in a timely manner

·         Provides reference documentation by writing and maintaining data modeling documentation

·         Monitors production environments and provides off-hours support to ensure maximum system availability to user base 

KEY SKILLS, ABILITIES & REQUIREMENTS 

·         5+ years of experience in data modeling methods and techniques for translating business and technical requirements into a comprehensive data model using ERWin and Visio

·         Experience with SQL and  PL/SQL

·         Experience with Teradata is a plus

·         Proven track record with large database modeling projects

·         Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical problems to non-technical audiences

·         Demonstrated ability to work independently and multitask with limited supervision contributing as a team player

 

EDUCATIONAL  REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
