Position: Sr. Data Modeler
Location: Wilmington, DE
Duration: 12-24+ Months

Description:
Primary Accountabilities:
- Same as Data Modeler plus
- Maintains Database Naming Standards Document
- Maintains all aspects of a physical model
- Generates DDL
- Adheres to company DDL software promotion procedures
- Creates indexes, partitions and other performance-oriented entities
- Ensures that physical modeling standards and naming conventions are followed
- Maintains company-wide data dictionary
Expected Impact:
- Same as Data Modeler plus
- Ensures that logical models are converted into adequate physical models
- Ensures that database objects are designed in accordance with project performance requirements, expected table sizes, typical joins and access paths
- Designates indexes and partitioning criteria
Decision Making:
- Same as Data Modeler plus
- Able to focus on several tasks simultaneously and still be able to take on last minute additions as necessary
- Demonstrates project prioritization skills
Customer Contact:
- Same as Data Modeler plus
- Engages database users to derive specific design requirements
- Solicits developers input during detailed schema reviews
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- Same as Data Modeler plus
- Understands physical design techniques
- Maintains good practical knowledge of Oracle and MS SQL Server features, data types, design performance implications
- Four year college degree with 3-5 years relevant experience.
