Job Title : DC Coordinator
Location : Petaluma, CA (will move between Data Centers in Bay Area)
Duration : 6 Months
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Data Center Operations manages the data centers and the server rooms throughout the enterprise. Data Center Operationsoversee the full lifecycle of servers, offering services from receiving to physical setup, network cabling,initial power-up, and retirement. Data Center Operation is also responsible for planning, designing, monitoring and managingthe data center facility infrastructure, including power distribution, racks, HVAC, fire suppression systems, EPO system, UPS, and cable management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Ability to provide engineering and project management support on multiple simultaneous projects.
· Demonstrated proficiency and accuracy with PC-based (e.g. Microsoft Office) and web- based applications for data entry and database changes.
· Understanding and working knowledge of datacenter systems, standards, procedures, and best-practices.
· Understanding and working knowledge in server, network, and infrastructure hardware.
· Must be detail oriented with ability to work with extreme care and precision at all times.
· Experience working in an IT project that involved group coordination, design, procurement, tracking, and installation of IT infrastructure equipment.
· Excellent documentation and follow-up skills.
· A "self-starter" and comfortable working without direct supervision.
· Outstanding organizational, customer service, and interpersonal relationship skills required.
· Must be able to effectively communicate in both written and oral media and be a team player.
· Must be flexible, eager to learn and performs other duties as assigned.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Preload/Build/Configure new server hardware
· Equipment rack, stack, cabling, and hardware break fix.
· Preform audits and manage data center inventory.
· Manage critical IT Infrastructure –generator, PDU, UPS, fire suppression system and HVAC.
· Coordinate vendor access/activities for server, network, and infrastructure repairs.
· Submit and track purchase requests and follow-up on approval flow.
· General shipping and receiving duties.
· Ensure IT assets are secure and locked in the cage.
· Design, procure, and implement data center/server room infrastructur
