Senior Systems Analyst - Healthcare Claims Processing
Location: Chicago, IL
Duration: 6 Months +
Skills: ITS, Claims Processing, Requirements, COBOL / CICS, SQL, UML
Scope of Responsibilities / Expectations:
· The position requires an experienced system analyst with strong analytical / critical thinking skills who can work well within a team as well as independently.
· The position places a strong emphasis on presentation and communication skills (both verbal and written).
· Candidates must be able to establish and maintain interpersonal relationships with internal and external customers.
· The candidate must be able to perform as a technical systems expert, and lead/coordinate the efforts of small technical teams.
· The candidate will be accountable for gathering requirements, providing high level design solutions and delivering system requirements by closely working with Plans & business stakeholders.
· Responsibilities include performing Systems Engineering, System Analysis and producing System High level (4+1 Views) Design Models and System specifications.
· The candidate will assist in implementation, support and system enhancements and should be comfortable in executing multiple tasks. Provide both order-of-magnitude and detailed estimates for software design analysis activities and artifacts.
· Minimum of 10+ years of IT work experience focused in software system design with emphasis on system analysis using RUP and/or UML.
· Health insurance industry background in the area of Claim Processing/Adjudication is required..
Specific Required Knowledge / Skills:
· Minimum of 10+ years of IT work experience focused in software design.
· A minimum of eight years of ITS experience is required, with Blue2 experience a big plus!
· Effective at analyzing business requirements and current system behavior and collaborating to create system design specification documents including functional specifications, system use cases, mock-ups, and design models.
· Minimum of 10+ years of Client claims processing experience required. Thorough knowledge of SF/DF processing is required, with RF/CBF experience a plus.
· RDBMS Database experience (one or more of the following: DB2, Oracle, SQL/Server or comparable) including SQL query and Data Analysis.
· Experience with creating UI mockups.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. Strong presentation skills desired.
· Experience designing mainframe (COBOL/CICS) systems.
· Experience in Java is a plus.
· Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science and Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience.
· Demonstrated experience working within a team environment.
· Proven ability to work with minimal supervision, adhere to schedules, and coordinate technical teams.
· Experience with Source Control and Requirements Management
· Familiarity with Agile SCRUM as well other Client development processes and methodologies is a plus.
Deliverables:
· Develops high-level design and functional specifications, produces deliverables related to the project(s) assigned and assists in post implementation support.
· Responsible for the design and development of IT solutions based on business requirements documents.
· Assists business analysts by clarifying requirements during requirements development.
· Acts as SME for development and test teams.
· Results of data analysis for use in planning, design and problem resolution.
· Reviews business requirements, technical designs, and test artifacts.
· Resolves tickets for production-related issues.
