Job Title: Software Developer (OO, Python, C++)
Location: Washington, D.C metro area
6+ months contract
Visa copy required at the time of submission
Description:
The ideal candidate would have a passion for developing forward-thinking solutions for the payments industry. Define specifications based on discussions with management, other team members and clients. Design software based on those specifications, and implement design (typically) using Python and asynchronous TCP/IP on UNIX systems. Debug applications, especially applications that communicate via TCP/IP with other servers. Work with clients to assess their needs, requirements and debug any problems they might have. Work independently or as a member of a team. Provide design input for the specification of future developments. Train and mentor other developers as necessary.
Requirements:
Our gateway tech stack
- Python with asynch-core and similar Reactor pattern implementations
- Oracle 11/12g OLTP database
- Linux and Solaris OS; Apache reverse-proxy; Load balancers; PKI
Your responsibilities
- Design and Develop innovative technology & software as part of a team of highly talented software developers
- Help plan and implement methods to scale the product well beyond current capabilities in size and functionalities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (Preferred).
- 3-15 years of experience developing incredible code
- Experience with Object Oriented languages Python, C++, Java (Python Preferred) under Unix/Linux
- A detail-oriented and highly communicative personality, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with TCP/IP, socket and asynchronous communication
- SQL and database programming (Oracle a plus)
- Experience in payment industry, and encryption technologies is a plus
