The SharePoint Developer works on all phases of applications development, systems analysis, and programming activities, which are in support of the needs of American University.  The incumbent will be part of a team, which provides design, development, customization and integration of the University's SharePoint web portal, including built in collaboration, search, content management, business process workflows, and custom web parts.    

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field, or equivalent in education, training and experience is required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 6-8 years of development experience with Microsoft SharePoint or comparable web application framework 
  • Demonstrated experience in Visual Studio .NET 2003+, and VB.NET / C#.NET languages is required
  • A thorough knowledge of current web innovations, technologies and best practices in web design, usability and accessibility, and web application security concepts, and web services (XML and XLST) are required
  • Candidates must also have an understanding of web environments in large IT organizations and demonstrated knowledge of information architecture principles and user-centered design principles, and be able to create and maintain articulate, structured technical documentation
  • Practical experience with project lifecycles, source code management, and code reviews are essential
  • Demonstrable knowledge of database modeling and relational database, preferably Oracle and MSQL, and practical experience with API and versatility in HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript including use of AJAX and libraries such as jQuery, Prototype.js, Angular.js or similar are necessary
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a collaborative environment and a commitment to customer service in a diverse population are necessary.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Proven SharePoint 2010 experience is required and experience with SharePoint 2013 is a plus  
  • Experience with High Capacity web systems/ High volume transactions is a "good to have" in this role.

Network Engineer

Description:

 

Sr. Network Engineer to assist on Covington network build out, as well as business and manufacturing network operations. Contractor will be reporting to the Network Manager in Northern Illinois and must be able to deploy, support and maintain a very large high availability network environment. Composed with Cisco 6807 as distribution switches, 250+ 3850 switches distributed in about 40 IDFs. Large Cisco Wireless footprint composed with 8510 wireless controllers and 1000+ Access Points. As well as capable of making appropriate support and changes to the Manufacturing ASA environment. Knowledge on Nexus switches, as well as F5 and Infoblox is highly desirable.

Special requirements:

 

Candidate must be from Cambridge, MA area, to work daily at the site, - Senior Cisco Engineer in Routing/Switching and solid experience with Cisco ASA. DDI Infoblox and F5 are a plus. Possible Contract-to-hire 6+ months

JOB FUNCTION:


The contractor reports directly to the Manager, NA Network Operations and the contractor will be a member of a global team responsible for Network Operations within Baxalta.
The primary responsibility, but not limited to, will be the support and implementation of Network services at the Covington Plant in order to ensure availability, improve productivity and minimize costs. According to agreed SLAs and to document the Baxalta network environment at all times.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


This section contains a list of five to eight primary responsibilities of this role that account for 5% or more of the work. The incumbent will perform other duties assigned.
Implement technology vision in multiple areas, liaison role between Customers and Corporate standards; provide consulting within area of expertise.
1) Interface with IT customers to understand business requirements and customer needs and assist in the development of business cases and justifications.
2) Provide technical education, guidance and consulting to IT customers and team members on technology solutions, services, and standards.
3) Prepare business requirements, system assessments, project and process assessments, and implementation documentation for technical projects.
4) Install and support technical solutions and implementations.
5) Establish service-level metrics used to define and measure technology services.
6) Establish and manage effective vendor relationships.

10) Strong problem solving, analytical and documentation skills.
Education and/or Experience:
Include the education and experience that is necessary to perform the job satisfactorily.
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience. 8+ years of relevant technical experience, including systems analysis, design and implementation.
2. Implementation and Operational Support of multi-region MPLS services.
3. Working directly with customers to analyze business requirements and work with Architecture team to propose/design appropriate solution
4. Working with local Telco providers to scope, plan, order, implement and management of business critical services and equipment
5. Vendor management with outsourced support contracts

Special Training
Two or more of the following certifications and documented hands-on experience of the below technologies seen as important:
1. Cisco CCNP or higher. Strong hands on experience with Routing and Switching. Switches 3850, 6807, 6509, Cisco Wireless, controllers 5508 and Access Points are necessary.
2. Cisco ASA (multi-context Firewalls and VPN concentrators) required for multiple DMZ and Manufacturing Protection deployments/changes it is nice to have.
3. Cisco Nexus vital part of Datacenter infrastructure, nice to have
4. F5, Cisco WSA, SourceFire, Infoblox and LANCOPE experience would be a plus.
5. ITIL Foundations Certification v
