Job Description and Required Skills:
| The client is seeking a short term (12 month maximum) contractor. The selected candidate will work in the position of Business Analyst and will be the primary client lead for the requirements, business processes and testing activities for the project. This position will require soft skills as well as technical skills, particularly in communication and facilitation skills.
· Work with the project team and vendor to develop and analyze the business and technical requirements for the project · Use techniques such as use cases, storyboards and JAD sessions to help identify and gain agreement on the requirements · Create and manage the requirements documentation for the project · Lead the planning and execution of testing activities for the project, to include test plans, test cases and user acceptance · Build a requirements traceability matrix to verify successful delivery of all project requirements · Ensure requirements across client are represented in the project documentation · Support the client project manager in planning deliverables, scope, schedule and other aspects for the project · Provide knowledge transfer and training to client personnel, per project plans · Work effectively within the GIS Unit's project team model · Help support achievement of the project business case |
| Required skills: |
|
· Extensive experience facilitating requirements gathering sessions · Demonstrated experience developing, analyzing and documenting business and technical requirements · Ability to document use cases and develop process flow diagrams · Extensive experience planning and overseeing software test activities, to include formal user acceptance · Ability to develop and deliver high-quality project documentation · Ability to translate technical information into business language to ensure understanding of the requirements by both technical and non-technical personnel · Excellent facilitating and consensus-building skills
Highly Preferred:
· Experience managing projects or leading task teams · Background in GIS technologies and systems |
