Title: .Net Developer / Applications Developer

Location: Las Vegas, Nevada

Duration: 9 Months (Can get extended up to an year)

 

Duties:

·         Will assist with the internal software engineering staff in the on-going development a Justice Public Safety solution for multi-agency interaction of a system that will be used for receiving, storing and retrieval of data related to wanted vehicles (stolen, lost, towed, etc).  The number of users of the system will be in the 1,000+ range.  The documentation of the solution is also expected.

·         Demonstrates proficiencies in either C#, ASP.NET and/or T-SQL programming

·         Demonstrates professional organization, documentation, communication and interpersonal skills. 

·         Familiarly with MS SQL Server databases.

·         Creates new or modifies existing programs.

·         Plans and develops test data to validate new or modified programs; designs input and output forms and documents. 

·         Troubleshoots software problems as needed, for customers, other agencies and information systems personnel. 

·         Test and evaluates alternative solutions and recommend and implement appropriate applications design. 

·         Maintains and communicate accurate status of work performed.  Interviews functional and technical staff to gather documentation required for analysis of current system architecture and application requirements.  

·         Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the team's service by offering suggestions or direction as a member of the team. 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:

Required:

        Proficient with ASP.NET MVC 3, HTML 5, JQuery, and CSS and with MS Visual Studio 2010, MS Visual Studio 2008, MS Team Foundation Server (TFS) 2010 including Work Items and Branching integration, MS SQL Server 2008 R2, ASP.NET, VB.NET, C#.NET, LINQ, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), MS Project and MS Project Server

        Experience with ORM packages such as Entity Framework (EF4)

        Strong SQL skills, ideally with hands-on experience developing stored procedure

        Strong skills in Object Oriented programming

        Strong skills and previous experience in understanding business requirements and translating them into technical designs

        Strong unit and system testing skills

        Ability to interact and serve as a technical resource to technicians and analysts

        Ability to recommend to lower level analysts or client representatives methods for resolving problem

        Possess high technical knowledge level of applications systems analysis and programming

        Capable of understanding detailed technical issues to design architecture for stable technologies and provide direction for technicians and other analysts

 

Preferred:

• Experience with Windows Workflow Foundation 4.0

 

Preference given to candidates with:

• Experience with Repository and Unit of Work Patterns and demonstrated experience in development of automated unit tests within Microsoft Visual Studio
