Location:       newyork city, Newyork

 

M.O.I:              Telephonic + F to F  (Need Only Locals)

 

Duration:      12 months

 

 

 

Responsibilities

• Work with Syncora IT and business staff to define, develop, test and support application functionality as required. 
• Write functional and technical specifications as necessary.
• Assist in the upgrade of the current development environment to .NET 4.0 and VSTS 2010.

 

Business Domain Experience

Candidates must have at least 3 years of recent experience in developing and supporting back office processing and reporting systems for the financial services or insurance industries.   Applicants must have good working knowledge of fixed income concepts.  Experience in the insurance or reinsurance industries is preferred, as is experience with credit management applications. 

 

Technical Experience

The candidate must have at least five years experience in the following:

 

·    The analysis, design, development and support of multi-tier web based applications and distributed applications using web services, SOA and web 2.0 standards.

·    Object oriented analysis, design, and programming using design patterns and best practices.

·    Writing and debugging stored procedures and user defined functions in SQL Server or Sybase.

·         Application Development Technologies:  .NET 2.0-4.0, C# or VB .NET, ASP .NET, HTML, JavaScript, web services

·         Database Technologies:  SQL Server or Sybase T-SQL, stored procedures and functions, Microsoft Reporting Services/SSRS or equivalent, Microsoft Analysis Services

·         Development Tools:  Visual Studio .NET,

·         Third Party Tools:  Third party ASP .NET controls, preferably Infragistics    

·         Design Tools: Visio Architect or equivalent

 

Personal Qualifications and Skills

·         Candidate must possess good oral and written communication skills, a team-centric work style, and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with staff and management.

·         Candidate must be motivated, resourceful, a self-starter, and must be able to drive through development tasks from inception through deployment.

  

Education

Candidate must have a four year college degree in computer science or equivalent field.
