Our client is looking for a skilled Database Developer with a passion for data and data processing. The ideal candidate will have experience in delivering and supporting enterprise grade solutions. The right candidate will be a collaborative, self-starter that can work side-by-side with application developers, QA engineers, business analysts, and other members of the North America application development team.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):
Create and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical database models
Create stored procedures, queries, triggers, etc. using PL/SQL and T-SQL
Research, test and employ database and query tuning techniques to maximize database performance
Design and develop PL/SQL scripts to perform complex ETL processes
Construct and design documents and documentation to aid in maintenance and code reuse in accordance with team processes and standards.
Participate in database code reviews, maintaining and enforcing database coding standards
Analyze the database schemas involved and develop approach for accessing and updating data as required
Coordinate the implementation of database application components
Understand and work with data in with varying degrees of complexity and scale
Provide production support on an as-needed basis
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
Strong communication skills
Good analytical and problem solving skills
Comprehensive understanding of relational database and flat file processing concepts.
5 years experience using standard ETL tools
3 to 5 years experience with Oracle and SQL Server
3 to 5 years experience in developing procedures and packages
Experience in tuning SQL Queries for performance
Experience working in a Unix/Linux environment
Familiarity with T-SQL, PL/SQL, XML
Experience working in an Agile Scrum delivery model
