Position: Software Verification Engineer / Tester

Location: San Francisco, CA

Type: Contract

 

Job Description :
PURPOSE OF POSITION
The person in this role will be responsible for developing and executing test cases to verify the functions and maintain quality standards of mobile phone products based on Android.
 
Key responsibilities:
1.     Executing test cases to verify the functions of the mobile phone products.
2.     Coordinating with team members, test engineers, project management, and global function groups to determine best practices.
3.     Track and report issues using tracking tools
4.     Evaluating new requirements and creating test cases or action plans to cover those requirements
5.     Work with the multi-site teams to troubleshoot and understand issues and make recommendations
6.     Provide On-site engineering support to US operators during their testing phases
 
KEY FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES / SKILLS / IMPORTANT ASPECTS:
Required:

1. Experience with methods and tools for analyzing the development and technical characteristics of testing/verification systems
2. Strong communication, coordination, organization, and reporting skills.
3. Experienced with Smartphone and Tablets
4. Experienced with Android

Preferred:

1. Experience with testing tools such as ClearQuest, Mercury Quality Center Agilent 8960, Ethereal/WireShark and proprietary phone software loading and logging tools DebugMux, QXDM, QCAT, Snapper.
2. Experience with TCP/UDP, 3GPP, 3GPP2, IMS and  WAP protocols
3. JAVA coding background in a testing role
4. Verification in a cellular information technology (GSM, CDMA or TDMA)
5. Technical understanding of mobile phone applications

 
COMMUNICATION:
The position requires working with internal engineering and verification teams as well as with customer SMEs.

 

Minimum Education:  BS degree in EE or CS.
 
Minimum Years of Relevant Experience: 
 

1. 5+ yrs experience in software verification or development of mobile phones
2. 2+ yrs of  Android and other Standard OS experience
3. 2+ yrs of US Cellular operator requirements experience
4. 1+ yrs of Test case development experience
