Position: Jr. Server Engineer

Location: Chicago, IL

Type: Contract

 Max rate is 40

Job Description :

• Windows 2003 through 2008R2: Active Directory, DNS, CIFS, Client, security
• Virtualization: Knowledge of VMware ESX/Citrix
• Backup: Knowledge of Netbackup, with familiarity with StorageTek tape libraries.
• Network: Basic routing protocols, TCP/IP, troubleshooting network issues.
• Applications: Symantec, IIS, SQL, WSUS, SCCM
• Storage: Good understanding of RAID, SAN, SAS, and SATA

Essential Responsibilities:

• Create and update process documentation relevant to job tasks
• Create and update server design documents
• Perform tasks utilizing existing processes and established techniques.
• Monitor systems using monitoring tools, react to alarms, and troubleshoot issues.
• Create and update service tickets.
• Clearly articulate problems and symptoms when escalating issues to other teams.
• Perform various systems and network maintenance tasks.
• Implement approved hardware and software solutions into the managed environments to meet customer needs
