Job Description:
The Automation Systems team has a mission to focus on designing and implementing process improvements through the use of automation tools and frameworks. Among the tools utilized by the team in support of this mission are the HP Business Service Automation tools which is comprised of HP Operations Orchestration (HP OO), HP Server Automation (HP SA) and HP Network Automation (HP NA).
As a member of this team the Network Automation Engineer is responsible for serving as a general networking subject matter expert as well as for implementing HP Network Automation solutions. Targeted areas of focus include event to resolution, which enables the diagnoses and/or remediation of network alerts. Other areas include service delivery, which includes automating the provisioning of new customer environments through the use of tools like HP NA.
Position Objectives:
- Implement scalable automation and integration solutions that interface with many subsystems and minimize the need for future development work.
- Integration of various enterprise systems using Services and API's to provide more efficient workflows and high level process orchestration
- Design of scripts that can be leveraged within the HP NA tool.
- Engage end users to better understand needs and day to day activities
- Translate functional requirements into technical specifications
- Create development environment for efficient testing and integration
- Provide administrative support to production HP automation systems
- Create documentation of systems and processes.
Required skills:
- 2+ years enterprise using HP BSA Network Automation (HP NA)
- 4+ years experience programming e.g.: Perl, Expect/Tcl, Jython, Java, VBS, Rexx.
- Experience with Cisco and Juniper router configurations
- Strong analytical, diagnostic, problem solving and communication skills
Preferred:
· Knowledgeable of Data Center Operations a plus.
Education or Equivalent Experience:
- BS in Computer Science, or equivalent
