Responsibilities

·         As a Business Analyst, the candidate will work with the Information Technology team in designing, collection requirements of business applications and solutions.  This individual will bring a deep base of business knowledge skills to multiple development and enhancement projects. Under general direction, interacts with stakeholders to determine, analyze, formalize and document business processes and user needs.  Utilizes various methods for accomplishing high-level scope definition and detailed analysis, including leading and/or supporting joint analysis and design, small group and one-on-one sessions. 

·         Interprets needs into specific system designs and documents solutions for review by users, presentation to management and implementation by developers. 

·         Reviews documented system requirements and creates technical system design specifications for programming by others.

·         Creates wireframe of application by mocking up screens using MS Visio, Axure, or similar software.

·         Makes recommendations to improve the effectiveness of systems to serve business needs.  Maintains detailed knowledge of business processes and application functionality and acts as a "go-to" resource for the project. 

·         Works in a team structure and interact with cross-functional groups.

·         Evaluates and escalate issues within the team and propose solutions.

·         Provides guidance to the application development and, as needed, recommend the best solution approach.

·         Works independently with business teams during all project phases.

·         Documents and Logs problems and issues arising during application development and testing.

·         Conducts pre-testing of corrections made by developers to ensure they meet documented requirements.

·         Evaluates, prioritizes and delivers on assigned tasks.

·         Coordinates testing or, as needed, executes test scripts of existing and newly developed software.

Experience and Skills

 

Required:

·            5 years business analysis experience

·            8 years experience in IT or related field

·            Business process modeling – 6 years

·            Writing use cases – 2 years

·            Strong Business writing skills include Business requirements document, USE Case Specifications, Functional Specifications, Systems Design Specification (SDS), Systems Requirements Specification (SRS), and Data Dictionary, - 5 Years

·            Take part in the preparation of Project plan, user acceptance testing, creation of Functionality and Integration Test Plans.  – 5 Years

·            Experience in brain storm sessions with project managers and technical staff in planning and performing business process walkthroughs. – 5 Years

·            Proficient in Change Management skills such as Strategic changes, Technological changes , and Structural changes as defined by the Business and Technology (IT). – 3 Years

·            Experience in Unified Modeling Language (UML) diagrams such as State Transition diagrams, Activity diagrams, Class diagrams and Sequence diagrams. – 1 Year

·            Experience developing application prototype using a wireframe tool such as Axure. – 1 Year

·            Experience in conducting GAP analysis, SWOT analysis, Cost benefit analysis, NPV and ROI analysis. -  1 Year

·            Training development experience

·            Project Coordination experience

·            Experience with a project management tool.

·            Excellent MS tools skills – Outlook, Word, Excel, and Visio.

·            Excellent knowledge of the full system development life cycle.

·            Excellent analytical skills.

·            Excellent skills in workflow analysis, documentation and the requirements solicitation/interview process.

·            Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, teaming, written communication, oral communication and listening skills.

·            Must be self-motivated and results-oriented.

·            Excellent written and oral communication skills.

·            Strongly Preferred:

·            Environmental or Scientific industry experience.

·            Pluses:

·            Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, IT or related field or equivalent experience

·            Database knowledge and SQL skills
