Title: Java Technical Lead 

Location: Olympia, WA

Duration: 3 years

 

Client is looking for a tech lead with at least 9+ years of experience, should have worked as Tech lead. Experience in Insurance sector would be a plus. More of Java, JSP, SQL/ TRANSACT SQL/PLSQL and also should have .NET, ASP . NET experience.

 

Job Description:

·         The technical lead will be responsible to provide input into the RFP and review of the responses. Once the solution has been selected the technical lead will lead developers and participate in the development, testing, and implementation of the new system.

·         The candidate(s) selected will conduct the body of work required under L&I leadership. The descriptions below are not intended to completely describe all of the work that the candidate(s) would need to perform to complete the work required under work orders resulting from this Work Request. The work will include, but is not limited to, the following:

·         Lead, facilitate, and perform system analysis and design sessions

·         Lead system design verification processes ensuring design meets L&I system architectural standards and validated software requirements

·         Document outcome of system design sessions using industry standard tools e.g., Entity relationship diagrams, UML class diagrams, oriented analysis/design methods, and CASE engineering tools

·         Documentation will include detailed data requirements, data dictionary, data models and all other system design documentation to support final system design recommendation

·         Develop or update application programs and perform unit testing – Code and thoroughly unit test application programs using agency system and programming standards. This will include developing test data and thoroughly testing the application programs, locally in the dev and QA environments. Resolve all identified issues/bugs

·         Follow change control process – Follow the agency process for managing issues or changes to business requirements, including use of the agency's development and test environments

·         Support customer training – Where appropriate and necessary, assist the customer in preparation of training by developing training data and a mechanism to refresh data in the training environment

·         Support implementation and post-implementation – Provide technical support during the promotion of application releases to production and resolution of all issues identified

 

Mandatory Skills:

·         developing work plans, and coordinating and tracking complex assignments as a lead developer;

·         managing system development issues and design changes;

·         analyzing and designing complex interfaces to legacy systems and vendor software solutions;

·         coding and testing application programs ensuring the code delivered properly implements the validated software requirements and the validated system design;

·         designing, testing and implementing relational databases;

·         Experience in the any of the following technologies (8 years is not required on each technology for this qualification):

o   ASP.NET Web Controls

o   ASP.NET,C#.NET, VB.NET

o   Java, JSP

o   MS Team Foundation Server

o   SQL/ TRANSACT SQL/PLSQL

o   Web Services, Web Service Definition Language (WSDL)

o   IBM Websphere

o   XML Schemas

 

Desired skills:

·         Agile development and unit testing methods;

·         communicating clearly and effectively in formal written or oral presentations to diverse audience;

·         working with and/or supporting claims management business applications;

·         working with and/or supporting case management systems;

·         working with and/or supporting electronic document workflow management
