Urgent Requirement: " Oracle DBA "in  Chicago, IL

Duration:6 months

Rate:$50/hr on c2c in all inclusive

 

Job Description:

1.       Design, development and administration of Oracle databases.

2.      Performance monitoring, reporting, and tuning of Oracle databases.

3.      Management and maintenance of back-ups & recovery procedures.

4.      Installation and maintenance of database server, replication and client environments.

5.      Reviewing and tuning SQL and PL/SQL code.

6.      Designing database packages and procedures.

7.      Security and access control.

8.     Provision of support and assistance to development team in the design, development, testing, tuning and implementation of database applications

9.      Creation and maintenance of SQL queries and routines

10.  Provisioning of (database) development and testing environments.

11.   Writing ad-hoc queries based on schema knowledge for various reporting requirements. Writing / Tuning data ingestion procedures from external suppliers and partners using PL/SQL, sql loader, 3rd party tools eg. Toad etc.

12.  Required to deal with complex data models and object relational database mapping, while producing complex reports

  

Technical Responsibilities:

1.       In-depth knowledge of Oracle 9i/10g/11g with production support experience in a multi-project environment.

2.      In-depth knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL including tuning.

3.      Experience with Unix/Linux in a multi-domain environment including basic commands and shell scripting.

4.      Oracle Recovery Manager, Import/Export (and Datapump), SQL*Loader

5.      Oracle performance and tuning skills including server configuration and tracing facilities.

6.      Oracle Enterprise Manager.

7.      Good working knowledge of job scheduling and monitoring tools.

8.     Experience of working with multiple projects/tasks and the ability to prioritise on the fly.

9.      Experience of supporting multiple teams within a business.

 

Relevant Years of Experience:  6-8 years

 

Nice to Have Qualifications:

1.       Oracle Streams and Advanced Replication administration.

2.      An interest in data warehousing.

3.      Oracle OCP Certification.

4.      Familiarity with Oracle specific tools and utilities.

5.      Knowledge of XML and HTML

6.      Good documenting skills ( Windows Office/Visio/Cvs etc )

7.      Excellent communicator

8.     Self motivated

9.      Ability to learn quickly
