The Test Lead, Performance Testing CoE, is responsible for managing the execution of performance tests (load, volume, stress, capacity and scalability) that meet and exceed business non-functional requirements on a variety of projects and products. The Test Lead is accountable for the design and development of performance test scripts through analysis of product specifications and requirements.  The Test Lead oversees and actively participates in the development and execution of performance test scripts, and the creation of performance testing artifacts including test strategy and test plans, test cases, test execution reports, defect/issues reports, action/item reports, and project plans.  The Test Lead participates in requirements and design reviews, project team meetings and is responsible for planning on multiple concurrent projects.  The Test Lead is responsible for ensuring that testing meets project milestone deadlines and manages any risk to those dates.  The Test Lead provides expertise on performance testing tools and capabilities and mentors and coaches more junior team members.  The Test Lead will collaborate with other teams including Product, Business, Development, SQA Testing, Technology Deployment, Operations and Support as necessary.  The Test Lead will define test objectives, lead performance testing engagements, and provide analysis and guidance in resolving performance issues, defects and bottlenecks.

To be successful, the Test Lead must have a broad knowledge of performance testing methodology and tools, with an understanding of various technologies and architecture.  This position requires a person who is highly skilled at handling complex technical situations and has exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Minimum job requirements/experience- Test Lead, SQA Performance Testing CoE)

  • 5+ years leading geographically dispersed and off-shore team members in performance and load testing
  • 6+ years leading test activities that encompass all types of performance testing  (including load, volume, stress, capacity & scalability)
  • 6+ years using automated performance testing tools such as Silk Performer or HP LoadRunner
  • Significant experience in the planning, designing, development and debugging of automated performance and load testing scripts
  • Ability to translate business and technical requirements into testable requirements and test scripts
  • Ability to assess a product's readiness based on performance test results
  • Ability to provide technical expertise and assistance in debugging performance related issues and bottlenecks
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, plan/prioritize work along the critical path, and meet aggressive project milestones and deliverable dates
  • Firm understanding of software testing methodology, quality assurance, and SDLC
  • Experience testing  Web-based, mobile, and content technology-based applications
  • Familiarity with risk-based testing techniques
