Role: Network Security Engineer

Location: Denver, CO

Duration: Contract 

 

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

Responsibilities

• Expert level knowledge of Checkpoint firewall implementation and operation
• Knowledge of Checkpoint and Cisco VPN and Wireless platforms
• Experience with modern malware detection technologies including: FireEye, Checkpoint, Bluecoat, Websense, WatchGuard, Cisco, Nessus, TippingPoint
• Experience with endpoint security platforms, McAfee EPO, Checkpoint, Symantec
• Advanced knowledge of routing and switching theory and industry best practices
• Advanced knowledge of three-tiered architectures as they relate to Application Service Provider operations and security
• Knowledge of network access control methodologies, digital certification utilization and various machine/user authentication practices
• Knowledge of Active Directory, RADIUS, and TACACS+ AAA capabilities and best practice implementation methodologies

Non-Technical Responsibilities:

• Will have the capability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks
• Commitment to see each issue to completion, but can also identify when escalation is required
• Ability to work as a proactive, resourceful, cooperative and respectful team member
• Strong written communication skills

Basic Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronic, or equivalent
• Network/Security Certified (CISSP, CCNA thru CCIE) / platform certified (e.g. Cisco, Websense, Checkpoint, Bluecoat, FireEye, F5)
• 5+ years of proven experience with operational security, designing, architecting, administering and implementing advanced network and security infrastructure solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with carrier/service provider class security deployments and operations
• Experience with large-scale geographically divers wireless implementations
• Experience in multiple network technologies, e.g. FireEye, Checkpoint, Bluecoat Websense, WatchGuard, and Cisco firewalls, switches and routers
• End Point security experience
• Proven analytical and problem solving techniques
• Scripting ability – PEARL, JavaScript, Python
