Job Role: Java Front End Developer
Location: Mount Vernon, OH

Duration: 6+ Months

JOB SUMMARY: Design, develop, and support the front end interface of client's growing customer and vendor web portals.

                                                            

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

 

·         Designs and implements desktop and mobile web based front end user interfaces and solutions using JavaScript, HTML(5),CSS(3),and JavaScript toolkits and frameworks such as Jquery, ExtJS, Sencha Touch, Etc.

·         Takes into account modern web development best practices. To ensure browser/device compatibility and utilizes file compression techniques for improving application speed.  Focuses heavily on implementing a great user experience when developing new or updating existing applications.

·         Works closely with backend developers to accurately convey requirements and ensure the delivered product(s) satisfies the application and business needs.

·         Works closely with business process owners to align the application with the work flow of the overall business landscape as well as the end users' needs. Takes this information into account when designing the application to ensure a high quality end product that is flexible enough to make changes based on customer needs or process change initiatives.

·         Actively seeks out areas to improve the stability, efficiency, responsiveness, quality, and future of the portal for desktop and mobile experiences. Implements new technologies and new approaches where appropriate. Supports development and maintenance testing of web systems including security.

·         Create documentation for both end user daily usage and technical application maintenance. 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

·         Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Technology or a related field.

·         3+ years of front end web development experience, preferably working with large scale web applications. Strong front-end web development experience utilizing HTML5, CSS3, and advanced JavaScript, MV* JavaScript Frameworks (Extjs,Sencha Touch,Etc), jQuery and experience integrating with restful API's through AJAX.

·         Proven track record of working closely with a backend development team to design efficient and scalable application solutions and API's.

·         Proven experience using SQL with the ability to write stored procedures, user defined functions and SQL queries.

·         Must be extremely detail oriented, reliable, organized and self-motivated.

·         Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.

·         Strong project management skills required.

·         Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills required.
