Project Description:
Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) is a complex Inmon-style data warehouse and is expected to become the single source of information at my firm.
Technologies Used:
Enterprise Data Warehouse system is based on SQL Server 2008 R2 and SQL Server Integration Services 2008 R2 (SSIS)
Responsibilities:
· Work with Application Engineering resources assigned to the Enterprise Data Warehouse project and facilitate the movement of data, SSIS packages and configuration data from the Development environment to the Quality Assurance environment.
· Work with Operations and Transition Management resources to facilitate the movement of data, SSIS packages and configuration data from the Quality Assurance environment to the User Acceptance Testing environment and Production Environment.
Current Technical Environment:
Enterprise-wide database and data warehouse applications built on MS SQL technologies (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, etc.)
Technical Skills Required:
· Hands on experience preparing data, SSIS packages and configuration data for deployment to QA, UAT and Production environments, 2-3 yrs
· Knowledge of C#, SSIS, SQL Server and T-SQL, 2-3 yrs
Soft Skills Required:
· Proactively identifies and addresses issues which may affect ability to deploy data, SSIS packages and configuration data
· Proactively anticipates problems before they occur; defines the problem; identifies possible causes; works with team to identify solutions; selects and implements most appropriate solution.
· Ability to document all work
· Ability to communicate with resources from Application Engineering and Operations organizations
Educational Requirements:
A degree in Computer Science or a related discipline or equivalent work experience
