Title: Network Specialists /Engineer

Location: Raleigh, NC
DHHS is seeking a Advanced level Technology Specialists to implement IT infrastructure as designed in a new State facility. The candidates must have technical experience on large, complex automation/IT infrastructure implementation projects.
Advanced level Technology Specialist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Perform technical implementation of LAN and Technology infrastructure as designed by the architecture team of a new medical grade IT network/infrastructure solution.
• Install, configure, integrate and test (all levels) IT infrastructure components/systems (custom and COTS).
• Oversee that vendor contracted services are performed to the specifications required and defined by the architecture.
• Provide IT infrastructure/systems support and transition knowledge to operations and maintenance support staff.
• Create technical documentation.
• Conduct initial implementation training.
• Perform IT planning, systems conversion and/or migration.
• Support the development of disaster recovery plans.
• Work with the Senior Architect to assure continuity of planned technologies.
• Review technical documents produced by the Developer or other external sources.
• Perform technical architecture and other deliverable reviews for large-scale projects.
• Perform tasks as assigned by the DHHS Project Manager.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:
The experience and skill sets needed are as follows:
Required:
• An in-depth understanding of distributed computing using N-tier, distributed processing, client/server, and Internet/intranet technologies.
• Knowledge of network infrastructures, virtualization, LANs; VLANs; WANs; WLANs; SANs; VOIP; RTLS; VPN; TCP/IP; session initiation protocol (SIP); Wi-Fi Protected Access 2 (WPA2); video conferencing; PBX, voice, data and unified communications; and programming techniques.
• Experience developing technical and non-technical solutions for supporting business process reengineering.
• Experience with large scale projects crossing myriad functional areas using state-of-the-art technologies.
• Experience on large, complex automation/IT infrastructure implementation projects.
• Experience leading group efforts and acting as liaison between business and technical staff. Strong communication, interpersonal, presentation and interviewing/facilitation skills.
• Is very comfortable with hands-on technical consultation roles and working with business clients.
• Experience developing/reviewing assessment tools.
• Able to produce and review documents related to technical requirements, designs and implementation plans.
Preferred:
• CCNP, CCIE or equivalent experience.
• Three (3) years experience as an Advanced Technology Specialists
• Understands Project Management Methodology.
