Job Title : . Net Application Developer
Location: Kansas city MO
Duration : 6 Months
Job Description :
Developer will work as part of a small team creating both new applications and enhancing and maintaining existing applications. Will work on both server and web UI applications to support Positive Train Control, a real time train control and monitoring system with a strong emphasis on message processing.
All of the skills and experience listed next are REQUIRED.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
· Developer will be doing initial support for software developed by this team to a small number of users in the field, and must enjoy interacting with field technicians. Support for each software component will later migrate to a support organization, this developer does early support only. This is both a development and support job. Some preparation and editing of design documents and draft user documentation is required.
· 1+ years of experience writing .Net C# web applications,
· Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and TSQL.
· Applicant must have a solid understanding of telecommunications and message processing protocols including TCP/IP, HTTP, etc.
· Applicant must understand multi-threaded programming.
We want to emphasize that successful candidates for this position will be excellent communicators and comfortable working with people in person and on the phone. This IS a developer position, however, not a customer/technical support position.
WE ALSO HAVE POTENTIAL NEEDS AT A HIGHER LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE. WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO PRESENT MORE EXPERIENCED CANDIDATES AS WELL.
The following skills and experience are desirable but not required:
· MVC4+ experience preferred but not required.
· Railroad experience in IT or other departments
· LINQ experience is highly preferred
· Entity Framework database experience is a plus.
· Linux/C++ development experience
· AMQP experience
· Experience interfacing Windows software with embedded systems
· Skills in Spanish are a plus.
