Role  :Sr./Lead Data Warehouse (ETL) Architect

Location: Washington, DC

Locals to DC/MD/VA are highly preferred,non locals are okay too.

Length: 3-6months (Will be extended)

 

TOP 2 SKILLS REQUIRED:

1.       ETL

2.       Pentaho PDI

 

The TOP 2 skills are Required. USAC ideally is looking to F2F interview but might but would consider hiring off a Skype interview for the right candidate. H1 candidates are OK but must have solid communication skills and be willing to start immediately.

 

 

        I.            Provide a brief description of the project in which they will be working on. 

a.       Project is for the development of datamarts using Pentaho Data Integration (PDI) for data analytics for USAC's ongoing Enterprise Data Strategy program.  Specific USAC OLTP  (Oracle) databases will be used and ETL jobs will be developed.  The project involves the technical documentation of the ETL jobs developed also.

      II.            Provide any pre-screen questions for the vendors to use in sourcing candidates.

b.      Years of experience with ETL - 4

c.       Tools – Pentaho, PDI, MS-SSIS, Erwin

Sr Data Warehouse Developer/Architect:

 

Overall Purpose:

 

Leads projects in designing enterprise data reporting architecture that includes strategic reporting databases, data marts and data warehouses.  Creates complex ETL packages to extract data from various data sources and load into data warehouse.  Takes ownership of system structure integrity and data integrity.  Serves as technical team leader in the development of business intelligence solutions and other reports based on data from various sources. 

 

The position's essential duties include the following:

§  Works together with IT management in defining enterprise data architecture strategy

§  Teams up with the USAC Programs and Architecture on implementing the data architecture consistently across vendor-hosted and USAC-operated data centers

§  Leads in designing and revising data model for data warehouse, and meta data and data dictionaries across the enterprise

§  Meets and collaborates with business users on requirements and objectives

§  Leads in reviewing and revising database designs and scripts on an ongoing basis

§  Leads in documenting meta-data about Data Warehouse System according to computer industry standards and knowledge of database management systems.

§  Manages data loads, and security, storage and performance strategies and implementations.

§  Serves as technical team lead in the development of business intelligence reports and analysis, providing mentoring, guidance and troubleshooting to analysis team members in solving complex reporting and analytical problems

§  Conducts complex analyses of strategic issues based on analysis of trends and interrelationships of key performance drivers documented in the data warehouse, especially the identification of test and control groups and comparison and evaluation of their relative performance; synthesizes research results and develops actionable strategic recommendations; communicates research results and strategic recommendations to nationwide and division strategy managers.

§  Devises ER diagrams and identifies unique foreign keys, entities, attributes, relationships and business rules for data warehouse
