Title: Business Systems Analyst

Location: Princeton, NJ

Duration: up to 2 years expected

Need Locals, In Person Interview 

 

Job Description:

Candidate will gather requirements from Business Units and work directly with development teams in translating requirements into technical specifications. Candidate must have a strong experience in Java based development environments and have strong overall SQL skills; candidate must have prior experience working through a full SDLC application development lifecycle. See Technical Requirements below.

 

Technical Skills Required:

UML, Strong Documentation abilities, Strong database, Testing

Prior work experience the following development environment: Java, WebServices, Power Designer, XML

 

Summary of Job Responsibilities 

·         Facilitate communication between different IT application areas and Business 

·         Participate in software development groups and teams in requirements gathering, analysis, design, risk mitigation, programming/construction, unit testing and transition of applications into a production environment. 

·         Gather and document business requirements and functional/detail requirements 

·         Translate business requirements to functional, non-functional and technical specifications 

·         Provide detailed review and documentation of costs for proposed solutions 

·         Work with system developers, test teams, process managers, and end users to ensure proposed solution is delivered according to schedule and with the required functionality 

·         Analyze/document new and existing processes and procedures 

·         Continuously review test plans and provide feedback on methodology when necessary 

·         Participate in conducting regularly scheduled reviews of newly proposed and exiting projects to ensure quality and accuracy is delivered to end users 

·         Function as contact for problem analysis and resolution 

·         Apply industry standard analysis, documentation techniques where appropriate to assist in providing optimum solutions 

·         Follow Client's SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle) processes 

 

Other Requirements (Specialized skill sets, behavioral/technical): 

·         Ability to understand database structure and query database for information 

·         Prior experience with software testing standards, practices, methods and tools 

·         Ability to understand web service and xml schemas 

·         Excellent planning, organization and problem identification skills 

·         Excellent information and data analysis skills 

·         Prior experience in financial applications preferred 

·         Demonstrated problem solving ability 

·         Excellent technical and business terminology to consult with vendors and other internal staff 

·         Proven ability to work effectively on multiple projects simultaneously (balance workload) 

·         Ability to work in a collaborative, team-based environment 

·         Prior experience using PowerDesigner is important

 

Relevant Years of Experience Required: 

·         8+ years of experience in defining/developing software products requirements and/or managing software development efforts.
