Location: NY

 

. This is a 12 month project in the White Plains, NY area.

. Oracle Enterprise Manager and Database structures, table spaces and schemas are MUST-HAVES!

 

Cognos Developer

Key Responsibilities

1.      Cognos Reporting-developing new reports using data from BPCS and Metis ERP, Concur Travel management and IMS Xponent and Plantrak. Add new fields and make other requested changes to existing reports.

2.      Framework Modeling – making any changes to the existing Framework Models and creating new Models if required. The Framework Models are in the following path:

3.      Ensure 100% availability of Cognos Dispatchers, Oracle Servers and services and data.

4.      Report Studio, Query Studio

5.      Identify and resolve problems with reports and Cognos configuration.

6.      Write and debug SQL that creates metadata and reports. This will be in the form of Cognos SQL and Oracle PL/SQL.

7.      Work with Oracle DBA to ensure current data is available from the data warehouse 100% of the time.

8.      Work with internal clients to develop specifications for report requests. Turnaround requests in a timely way informing clients of progress.

9.      Conduct Cognos training session for users.

Essential Qualifications:

1.      Cognos Version 10.1

a. framework manager

b. report studio

c. query studio

d. user security

e. SQL debugging

2. Oracle PL/SQL development and debugging

3. Strong database skills

a. Tablespaces

b. Schemas

c. Oracle Enterprise manager (OEM)

4. Windows Batch Scripting

5. Windows Scheduler

6. Good Understanding of Business Processes

 

Qualifications Preferred:

1.      Knowledge of Oracle running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux – we are moving in this direction.

2.      Good operation understanding of Oracle RMAN and Dataguard.

LENGTH AND TYPE OF EXPERIENCE:

5-7 years of Cognos experience linked to an Oracle database running in a Windows Server environment. Must meet the "Essential Qualifications" indicated above.
