Position Title: Teradata DBA / Developer
Location : Orlando, FL
Duration : 6 months (may possible extension)
Job Description:
we are looking for a Teradata DBA/Developer for a contract position with our client in Orlando, FL. The position is initially for 6 months but may be extended depending on your performance and client needs.
You will work with a great team on a state-of-the-art enterprise data warehouse.
Responsibilities will include:
· Performance analysis and tuning.
· Analyze new and existing workload using EXPLAIN, query log, timings.
· Monitor performance.
· Recommend the use of statistics, indexes, partitioning, temp tables, other techniques.
· Rewrite SQL to improve performance.
· Teradata System Administration
· Create or modify tables, indexes, users, permissions, stored procedures, UDFs as required.
· Manage backups, restores
· Deal with Teradata incidents
· Assist with system expansion and hardware upgrades
· Data transformations and analysis using Teradata SQL.
· Design and write complex SQL transformations.
· Analyze and validate business data.
· Use the client's framework to implement extracts, loads and reports.
· Analyze and validate business data.
Required skills:
1. Understanding complex SQL.
2. Teradata concepts, architecture, Teradata database administration, performance tuning techniques.
3. Data warehouse concepts and techniques.
4. Teradata ELT and ETL, software components and utilities Multiload, Fastload, BTEQ, TPump, Fastexport.
Desired skills:
1. Math.
2. Teradata certification.
3. Ability to understand complex business data integration.
4. Programming ability in Python, C++, C# or Java
5. Reporting: BI concepts, Business Objects.
6. Data integration tools Informatica, Vision Replicate1
Required attributes:
1. Integrity.
2. Intelligence.
3. Ability to work well with others.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
5. Computer Science or Engineering degree.
