Mainframe Developer Telon/IMS.
Location : Springfield, IL
Duration : 6+ months
Project is converting the existing data base from IMS to DB2 so that the old system and the new system can both access the data structures. The new data structures will use mainframe DB2 so that the client will end up with a unified DB2 data base for the hybrid system. Developers are needed to convert Telon/IMS online and Telon/batch programs (as well as straight COBOL and Easytrieve programs) from IMS DB to DB2 access.
The developers doing this conversion will need excellent mainframe Telon and Cobol skills, with experience using DB2. IMS data base skills would be a plus. Telon skills should have been used quite recently (in the last 2-3 years).
All this work must also be coordinated with the ongoing efforts of the maintenance team so that changes made during the conversion period will not be lost or mangled.
