Job Responsibilities:
Work assignments are broad and involve a wide variety of complex technical and business issues. Projects require the application of advanced expertise in multiple areas of technical specialization and full technical knowledge of all phases of the system(s) to initiate and lead strategic efforts. Incumbent plans and carries out work independently and uses own initiative and judgment to handle non-routine matters and ambiguous issues.
Normally receives only general instructions on new or more complex assignments. Decisions are made independently and are acted upon by self and others. Responsible for establishing operating guidelines or methods for others. Provides technical guidance to lower level staff and may lead project team(s).
Contact is typically advisory or negotiate in nature and involves both exchange of technical or complex information, and is called upon to convince or negotiate with senior levels of management or equivalents on matters of significant consequence to the company.
Demonstrates extensive knowledge in PL/SQL with Oracle 10g, XML, WEB SERVICES and knowledge of SOA architecture is required and of the business and industry or technology. Maintains state-of-the-art knowledge of technical changes.
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, and 8+ years job related experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Working with System Analysts on defining requirements.
• Develop and write high-level and detailed design specifications.
• Design and build robust Oracle database applications.
• Participate in code and design reviews.
• Support testing, integration, and deployment efforts.
• Ensures applications meet requirements and is error free
• Develops technical system documentation
• Ensures that applications meet the architectural standards
PRODUCTION SUPPORT:
• Supports the operations of existing applications.
• When on call, provides timely response and resolution of emergency production questions, issues and defects.
• Adheres to a production support process.
EXPERIENCE:
• 8+ years related experience with Oracle 10g and later versions
• Experience in PL\SQL programming is required; Experience with Oracle 11g environment preferred
• Excellent skills in writing, maintaining, testing and debugging code in applicable programming languages.
• Experience with web services.
• Experience with XML and HTML and able to generate schemas
• Good documenting skills ( Windows Office/Visio/Cvs etc )
• Excellent Unix Shell scripting skills.
• SQL Tuning skills is a must.
• Familiarity with Oracle specific tools and utilities - Quest TOAD, PLSQL Developer, SQL Developer.
Coordinates a team or programmer analyst in the analysis, design, development, training, implementation, and maintenance for all custom software development including file server based database applications, client server based applications, and intranet/web based applications.
