MOI: - Telephonic + Face 2 Face Need Only USC, GC, EAD GC Looking for a Quality Assurance (QA) Analysts are integral members of the Business Technology Services (BTS) Department. This is a contract to possible hire so the qualified candidate MUST BE ABLE to convert without sponsorship. The QA Analysts need to balance quality with risk within multiple projects working with stakeholders, systems engineers, business analysts, developers and other team members. Gathering domain knowledge, analyzing requirements and decomposing solutions into logical pieces for testing is something they enjoy. They're empowered to apply critical thinking to address challenges head-on and gather new skills quickly to support our growing technologies. As a member of the Quality Assurance team in San Diego, the QA Analyst II will be responsible for verification of our enterprise applications. This position will provide guidance in process improvement initiatives using standard software testing methodologies within the SDLC. Qualified candidates must have the ability to provide detailed reports to business and IT stakeholders, internal/external auditors and other 3rd parties as needed, as well as assist in company-wide quality assurance testing initiatives.  Essential Job Duties: Analyze requirements, user stories and other input documents quickly to develop applicable manual and/or automated test cases Gather and apply domain knowledge of the assigned area Create and review test plans and execute testing efforts on assigned projects working closely with test team, stakeholders, programmers, project managers and/or Scrum Masters Communicate effectively with members of Software Development and other project related groups to ensure project objectives are met Partner with Engineering, Software Development, Business Analysts and customers to provide successful entry and exit criteria for user acceptance tests Identify and clearly document defects found internally as well as externally; support the complete defect lifecycle, defending quality priorities as needed Identify risks on release cycle data for inclusion in test reports Plan, create, maintain and use automated tests scripts to verify Quality Assurance standards Participate in ongoing quality improvement efforts by contributing ideas and feedback to quality management Work independently and within Agile and/or Waterfall project teams to provide guidance and recommendations to business stakeholders and management for risk remediation Designs and verifies testing environments for support of Quality Assurance efforts Follow and review ongoing improvements of the implementation of standards, methods, and procedures for testing Provide input to configuration management processes and ensure effective product release Competency: Flexibility & Perseverance Able to adapt, adjust and produce quality results despite changes and/or adversity. Competency: Communicating Effectively Practices active listening, is able to write clearly and professionally, and speak to others appropriately and professionally. Preferred Qualifications: Minimum of 4+ years work experience in software quality assurance or equivalent training and education Strong knowledge of XML, SOAP, web service technologies and Service Oriented Architecture Experience with .NET technologies including C#, SQL server and Visual Studio Team System. Experience constructing SQL queries Working knowledge of various Software Development Life Cycle methodologies including: Waterfall, Agile and iterative techniques Experience with .NET (including C#, SQL server, Visual Studio) Experience with automated testing tools and best practices Ability to create automated testing scripts (VB, Ruby, PHP, Java or C#) Strong knowledge of issue/defect tracking systems and defect life cycle Experience in multi-platform testing (Windows, UNIX, LINUX) Work experience mentoring QA personnel in quality assurance principles Ability to work well in a team Customer focus Working knowledge of compliance regulations for publicly traded education institutions experience preferred Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills required Education: BS or BA Degree preferred ISTQB, CSQE and/or ITIL certifications preferred
