Job Description:

 Manager is looking for a team player, contractor with excellent communication skills and the ability to install Solaris remotely. Experience with Solaris 10 on Intel/AMD/x86 platform is REQUIRED (not only Sparc platform). Understanding of networks, networking, tcp/ip, and subnetting is a must. Manager will conduct phone screens and then in person interviews. He is looking for local candidates only. Candidates MUST have Red Hat Linux and Solaris experience. Manager does not care about AIX experience. Contractor will be building systems remotely so communication is KEY!!!! I prefer Solaris 10 experience 90%. The amount of non-solaris work is negligible. The position will probably be extended into August 2014.
 

Background/Culture of group:

Medium sized group of system admins working closely with 2nd level app support and 3rd level development groups.

Scope of position:

Install systems remotely, troubleshoot issues pertaining to Texas datacenter move project.

Main Responsibilities:

Install systems remotely, troubleshoot issues pertaining to Texas datacenter move project.

Required Skills:

REQUIRED:  Team player, excellent communication, ability to install Solaris remotely, experience with Solaris 10 on Intel/AMD/x86 platform, not only Sparc platform.  Understanding of networks, networking, tcp/ip, and subnetting.   BONUS SKILLS:  LDAP, DNS, FTP, SSH, and Ilom/Drac helpful.  Experience with Solaris 11.
