Job Title: Linux Admin
Location: Cincinnati ,OH
Duration: 6 Months
This position will be for a project migrating several environments over to RHEL6 from RHEL5. Candidates should be comfortable working on a set of tasks independently. Candidates should be capable of deploying servers from a baseline image/configuration and customized them for their specific role within the environment. Knowledge of apache, weblogic, tibco and oracle installations is a plus.
Responsibilities
* Deploying servers from baseline images
* Updating servers with new IPs, DNS entries, enabling for remote
management
* Implementation of any hardening scripts and verification of security
* Installation of application service prerequisites within the
environment.
* Monitor Availability and Capacity of the servers.
* Documentation of implementation activities
* Ability to troubleshoot connectivity and implementation issues as
they arise.
Required Skills/Knowledge
* Basic bash scripting
* General network troubleshooting skills: host, ping, traceroute,
routing/firewall, etc
* OS Experience: RHEL5/RHEL6
* LVM, RAID, Multipathing experience
* Working knowledge of the following protocols: LDAP, HTTP, SSL, DNS,
NFS4, FTP, SNMP
* Virtualization troubleshooting
* SNMP Monitoring tools
* Server Hardening
* Patch management
Preferred Skills/Knowledge
* Perl scripting
* Python scripting
* DM-Multipath
* Network troubleshooting skills (tcpdump/wireshark analysis)
* Detailed, network-level knowledge of the following protocols: KRB,
LDAP, HTTP, DNS
