Job Title: Linux Admin

Location: Cincinnati ,OH

Duration: 6 Months

 

 

 

 This position will be for a project migrating several  environments over to RHEL6 from RHEL5. Candidates should be comfortable  working on a set of tasks independently. Candidates should be capable of  deploying servers from a baseline image/configuration and customized them  for their specific role within the environment. Knowledge of apache,  weblogic, tibco and oracle installations is a plus.

 

 

 Responsibilities

·               Deploying servers from baseline images

·               Updating servers with new IPs, DNS entries, enabling for remote

management

·               Implementation of any hardening scripts and verification of security

·               Installation of application service prerequisites within the

environment.

·               Monitor Availability and Capacity of the servers.

·               Documentation of implementation activities

·               Ability to troubleshoot connectivity and implementation issues as

they arise.

 Required Skills/Knowledge

·               Basic bash scripting

·               General network troubleshooting skills: host, ping, traceroute,

routing/firewall, etc

·               OS Experience: RHEL5/RHEL6

·               LVM, RAID, Multipathing experience

·               Working knowledge of the following protocols: LDAP, HTTP, SSL, DNS,

NFS4, FTP, SNMP

·               Virtualization troubleshooting

·               SNMP Monitoring tools

·               Server Hardening

·               Patch management

 Preferred Skills/Knowledge

·               Perl scripting

·               Python scripting

·               DM-Multipath

·               Network troubleshooting skills (tcpdump/wireshark analysis)

·               Detailed, network-level knowledge of the following protocols: KRB,

LDAP, HTTP, DNS
