Position: Linux Engineer

Location: Newport Beach, CA

Duration: one year

Phone interview and then face to face

 

Contract or Contract to hire.

Successful candidate will be responsible for design, installation, upgrade, and support of production Linux environments.  The incumbent needs to demonstrate extensive hands-on experience in Linux system administration. 

 

Requirements:

·         12+ years experience with enterprise Linux administration (Red Hat Linux)
Open-source software installation (compile from source or RPMs)

·         Shell scripting (bash,csh,tcsh,ksh)- Strong UNIX scripting

·         Experience with building, deploying, and maintaining compute farms

·         Interprocess communication

·         Monitoring tools, like sar, iostat, vmstat, top

·         Fully familiar with Linux kernel parameters

·         Familiar with NFS technologies (NFS 3 - NFS4)

·         Autosys exp preferred

·         IBM MQ exp preferred

·         IBM Platform Symphony / Grid exp preferred

·         Working knowledge of SAN/NAS technologies (Hitachi and NetApp)

·         File System (ext3, NFS) and raw devices

·         Performance tuning (server and storage)

·         Working knowledge of Oracle RAC running on Linux

·         Network and filesystem security

·         HP ProLiant DL and BL systems

·         High Availability clustering experience

·         On-call support

·         BS in Computer Science or equivalent
