Job Description:

 

Job Title: Hadoop Consultant

Location: Palo Alto, CA & Austin, TX

Duration: Long term Contract

 

*** Certified Hadoop Candidate will be preferred *** H1b are fine but must provide VISA copy with submission ***

 

Primary Skills:

 

• Experienced Engineer to help build large-scale distributed systems to leverage Hadoop, HDFS, HBase technologies; analyze performance bottlenecks and recommend tuning optimizations.
• Experience using projects in Apache Hadoop ecosystem such as HDFS, HBase, Hive, ZooKeeper; strong understanding of Hadoop File System (internals) preferable
• Knowledge of distributed storage technologies, concurrency, and caching
• Experience developing with Hive or any other query language
• Knowledge/familiarity of Impala or any of the following Cassandra , Drill, MongoDB, Riak, etc.

 

Secondary skills:

 

• Experience using MapReduce (or other parallel programming technique)
• Experience with Hadoop in the cloud (Amazon, Azure, Rackspace) a plus
• Proficient in Installation and tuning of a Hadoop/HBase cluster

·         Knowledge of Hadoop distros (CDH, HortonWorks).
