Job Title : DB2 z/OS Systems Programmer/DBA

Location: Atlanta, GA

Duration:12 Months

 

Responsibilities:

• Use SMPE to install, upgrade and maintain DB2 and related products
• Conduct all aspects of DB2 z/OS database administration
• Maintain USS objects for DB2 and related products
• Create, modify, or maintain in-house written CLIST and REXX utilities
• Utilizing DB2 Tool Customizer, maintain, update, or install new DB2 tool products
• Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 operational support
• Execute DDL to create, alter, delete database objects
• Create database backups and perform database restores as required
• Troubleshoot service problems; determine root cause, and provide resolutions
• Monitor database performance and derive solutions for performance problems.
• Provide guidance on good database design and implementation practices to Developers
• Participate in DR testing and execution
• Ensure compliance with database policies and procedures

 

Required Experience and Skills:

• Must be very proficient in JCL, DDL, DML, SMP/E, TSO, QMF, QMON, TMON, REXX, CLIST
• 4+ years of production support on DB2 z/OS, including Data Sharing
• IBM DB2 Administration Tool Suite and DB2 Tool Customizer
• RACF, HSM, USS and Workload Manager as it relates to DB2 z/OS 
• Database Performance Monitoring and Tuning

Good Oral and Written Communication Skills

 

Education: 

4-yr College Degree preferably in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering or related field
