Skills Required and Job Description:

MOI:- Telephonic + Face 2 Face Our client is looking for a solid Sr Software Engineer for a long term contract.  Someone who can come in, quickly sort through various problems they're encountering, define solution paths and then head down those paths.  Someone who knows good from bad (has the patterns) but also has a good thinking/analytical toolset. C# & TSQL are desired because that's the legacy stack.  Java is a plus because that gives them upside (new stack is Java).  Work in both windows and Linux environments desired.  Things like Splunk are a distraction.  The right resource will come in, be able to work with what any particular tool is doing, use APIs and other documentation, and crush through the tool-specific problems.  5-6 Years as a Sr. Developer (THIS IS NOT A HEADS DOWN CODER NEED GOOD ANALYTICAL AND TROUBLESHOOTONG SKILLS) Good skills in C# and VB. NET and T-SQL, ****THESE ARE MUST HAVES**** Experience with big data (map reduce, hadoop, hive or cassandra) ****THIS IS THE KEY TO THE POSITION***** Financial Services expereince in Trading or Hedge Funds is a ****PERFERED**** Java is a ****NICE TO HAVE****
